Jack Appleman is an award-winning writer who brings more than 20 years’ experience as a trainer, PR/communication professional and professor. His writing workshops have enabled corporate employees at different levels to write more productively, earning him exceptionally high ratings. Among the many articles Jack has published was a column, “Writing instruction helps PR pros break through to the media,” in PR Tactics and The Strategist Online, which earned him a Business Marketing Association 2007 Impact Award. His other articles have addressed the importance of clear and concise writing. Jack is currently writing a book, Ten Steps to Successful Business Writing, which will be published in early 2008. He also speaks frequently on writing and communication skills. In his career, Jack has written copy and supervised other writers for a wide range of documents including press releases, technical articles, proposals, new business letters and PowerPoint presentations. These efforts have helped many companies achieve their communication goals. As a professor, Jack teaches writing and communication courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University and at William Paterson University, both in New Jersey. He also teaches CE-credit classes on business writing for insurance producers and offers one-on-one writing coaching. Jack received his BA in Communication from Ohio State University and his MS in Journalism from Ohio University. He also earned the Certified Business Communicator (CBC) designation from the Business Marketing Association. Jack serves as Vice President of Marketing for the northern New Jersey Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development and is a past president of BMA’s New Jersey chapter.
